Teachers or admins using Edulastic have access to allow partial credit for questions. Partial credit is turned on when assigning an assessment. It is found in the Evaluation Method section.

Users can choose from three options:

**All or Nothing** - the student must get all parts of the question correct in order to receive credit.

**Partial Credit **- when Partial Credit is selected but the box is unchecked, the student will get credit for correct answers and lose points for incorrect answers.

**Partial Credit/Don't Penalize** - when these two are selected student gets credit for any correct part and is not penalized for incorrect answers.

Here we will look at **Partial Credit**.

In #1, the student earns 1 point for selecting Answer Choice 1 (AC1).

The student did not pick AC2. Thus, the total score is 1.

But now the penalty is applied because the student selected AC3 which was incorrect.

The penalty applied is a fraction of the correct number of answers. In this case, 1 out of 2.

Thus, the student earned 1 point but then lost 1 point.

In #2, the student earns 3 point for selecting AC1, AC3, and AC4.

The student did not pick AC2. Thus, the total score is 3.

But now the penalty is applied because the student selected AC5 which was incorrect.

The penalty applied is a fraction of the correct number of answers. In this case, 1 out of 4.

Thus, the student earned 3 points but then lost 1 point.
